Cup day on a stingy budget.

Last night I was informed by my boss that starting this year my office will have a mandatory Melbourne Cup day tea party WITH race course dress.
I panicked, I've never been to any races before and yet like a modern cinderalla I managed to win the best dressed prize.
On a budget of thirty dollars.
How?
I kept it simple, I started with a black large straw hat ( Audrey Hepburn style) from the infamous Hot Dollar 2 dollar store.
I then moved onto chinatown sniffing about at the boutiques with "closing down" signs in the windows until I found a lovely gold black and cream sequined baby doll dress.
I finished the look with very red lipstick.
And believe it or not I won the prize which was a BOX of cupcakes.
