Bringing the Maxi back. (LINK)
August 26th 2007 01:45
Once in a far away decade known as the seventies a dress was created that embodied the spirit of an entire generation. Free flowing and fun it hid all sorts of little sins like heavy thighs and saggy bottoms drawing attention towards the chest and neck area.
It was whimsical, free flowing and almost princess like.
It was the Maxi dress and now ladies its back.
This is the Maxi dress, whether bright and fun or in pale muted shades of Lavender the dress has one thing in common its long and it flows.
If you have fab pins this dress is designed to hide them away! Sorry girls.
The only problem with the return of the Maxi dress is that its design contains quite a bit of fabric and designers are using this to make it very expensive.
How expensive you may ask?
Well designers such as Bardot and One Teaspoon are selling Maxi dresses starting at the two hundred dollar mark. This is rather over the top for a dress designed to be worn to the beach.
For a cheap alternative say hello to Elle Would! Elle Would is a series of boutiques created by the designers of Suite 62 for a younger audience. The great thing about Elle Would is that the dresses are at realistic prices and they have stores scattered all over Sydney.
When walking into the Liverpool store and asking about the Maxi dress I was immediately shown gorgeous designs none more expensive then eighty dollars, the cheapest and the nicest was actually sold for only twenty!
Elle Would is located at.
Wynnard Station, Sydney.
Bankstown Centro.
Liverpool Westfield’s.
Parramatta Westfield’s.
However if you really want an amazing hands on experience you should go to Liverpool where Dani one of the salesgirls will give you a complete wardrobe makeover for less then a hundred dollars.
Her sense of style and what suites a girls figure is truly amazing and I tend to consult her before any big night out.
